Fiona was born in Spalding in Lincolnshire, she didn't particularly like it but enjoyed some work as a child model (in spite of a Naomi Campbell style catwalk tumble) and some school plays before moving to Kent aged 16 with her Mum (her parents divorced when she was 10). She quickly made new friends and preferred Kent's close proximity to London;
Leaving school for college Fiona retook two GCSE's she had received 'D' grades in, spent most of her time getting stoned, and ended up with two more 'D' grades. She went on to work for a large chain of hotels, only leaving to return to Lincolnshire for an extended visit. Back in Kent she got into the club scene and worked her way through a few more jobs, including the glamourous world of door to door gas sales;
"They lied to me! The job was advertised as something like 'sales executive'!"
Next came the same marketing company that much of the Coffee team has worked for, where she met Dave Smith, Jon Driscoll, Ben Seaman, Mark Mannell, Mark Lake, and Steve Piper. After several internal promotions through the fulfillment and administration departments she moved into a shared house with Mark Lake, Piper, and another girl, Melanie Bishop. They shared for about 10 months, during which time Fiona started acting with the local Chandeliers theatre company, appeared in Drugs Night II, and got a hankering to do some singing with someone, somewhere, in the near future.
