...to the home for the British independent film production company Coffee Films.

Established as an experimental short film collective playing with camcorders in 1996, Coffee Films incorporated in 2003 and within a year was recognised as one of Europe's most exciting young production companies.

Progressing to music documentaries in 2005 we also made an unpredictable move into wildlife and current affairs with the film Last of the Scottish Wildcats; profiling Britain's rarest and least filmed mammal armed with little more than some sponsorship money and a smile.

As we enter our second decade we're continuing to develop unique and exciting short concepts with fresh young talent, whilst developing a slate of documentaries alongside some of the most respected names in the wildlife, music and current affairs industries. We're looking forward to continuing to create outstanding and independent thinking films for another 10 years, still motivated by the words of Francis Ford Coppola that set us on our way;

"One day some little fat girl in Ohio is gonna be the new Mozart, and make a beautiful film with her little father's camera corder and for once the so called professionalism about movies will be destroyed, forever, and it will really become an artform."

Coffee Films news 28.3.2008 Coffee Shorts

Well our little project is just about launching and we'd love you to stop by at some point; Coffee Shorts is a new short film distribution network based across current social networks that gets really talented filmmakers bigger audiences and a little income for their work, we're putting the finishing touches to the website which has the occasional dead link and is currently just screening our shorts, come April you'll find regular new content being added from filmmakers all over the world so stop by, subscribe to one of the many channels, or send us your own work for consideration; www.coffeeshorts.co.uk.

Coffee Films news 28.3.2008 Coffee Artists Presents...

Our sister company, creative artists agency Coffee Artists is launching it's own series of live music nights showcasing some of the US and UK's best independent musical talent; launch night is Friday 11th April in the company's home town of Maidstone, Kent, with a performance from hot emerging artists Sound Sanctuary and Rebecca Worthley at the Music Rooms, Pizza Express, hear the artists at Coffee Artists Myspace and book tickets at Pizza Express.

Coffee Films news 28.3.2008 Project Updates

Wildlife; Several projects are deep into co-production talks and we hope to be announcing our next project soon, meanwhile The Last of the Scottish Wildcats is due for release on DVD this summer and pre-orders will be available probably in April right here on Coffee Films, 50% of all profits from the sale of the DVD will be donated to the Scottish Wildcat Association. This exciting documentary explores the infamous Scottish Wildcat subspecies and investigates the numerous factors contributing to it's imminent extinction. We reveal the views of all the key players as well as some awesome footage of this rarely filmed or photographed cat, planned for DVD release later this year. Music; our second Jake Stigers documentary, currently untitled, follows the band through four UK tours over the course of 15 months. Planned for DVD release late next year by Jake in a one hour version, a feature length version is planned for the festival circuit. Our first Jake film Out of Idaho and Under Same Sky, a music video we shot for British acoustic singer/songwriter Niall Quinn are both available for viewing all over the Internet.

Short films; How to Disappear Completely, A Plaster, a Paper, and a Cheese & Pickle Sandwich, 3 and Televisual Man are all still screening at festivals, on TV and the web, check the individual film pages for details. Dealer, our crossover no budget analogue/digital short project has finally completed offlining and is now onto final mixing. Trailer coming soon for this experimental short which has been in production for almost 5 years! Into The Shadow is a new scary short project written by long time friend of the company James Hancock, and to be directed by another long time friend French director Nicolas Fogliarini. We've got a great cast and crew lined up and ready to create something seriously cool during 2008, budget talks are currently underway with several broadcasters. Our friends at Crestfallen (who made Plaster, Paper...) also have a couple of new shorts planned we'll be sure to keep you updated with.
